The Okinawa Institute for Science and Technology engaged Wiseblood to develop a name and brand strategy for a newly minted department that brought innovative international science and business leaders to Okinawa, Japan to participate in its programs of innovation acceleration, incubation and startup ecosystem. The brand needed to be relevant at home in Okinawa as well as on the global stage of scientific leaders.

Wiseblood facilitated discovery sessions and naming workshops with department leads that resulted in a clear and simple Innovation name, replacing the cumbersome Technology Development and Innovation Center. The final step was the development of a bold visual identity system that demonstrated both uniqueness and alignment with the institutional identity, and provided guidelines for lockups with partner logos.
